OK, so what is Signal?

Signal is a free, privacy-focused messaging and voice talk app you can use on Apple and Android smartphones and via desktop. All you need is a phone number to join. You can text or make voice or video calls with friends, either one-on-one or in groups, and use emoji reactions or stickers just like in other apps. But there’s one big difference: Signal is actually really private.

Is the Signal app secure?

Communications on Signal are end-to-end encrypted, which means only the people in messages can see the content of those messages — not even the company itself. Even sticker packs get their own special encryption. 

How to use Signal private Messenger

Fast, simple, secure. Signal is privacy that fits in your pocket. You can find Signal in Apple’s App Store or in the Google Play store.

 

Download and install Signal Private Messenger from App Store or Google Play Store.

-- Tap on Open.

-- It’s the first step of getting started with Signal app that take privacy with you. So be yourself in every message. And tap continue to start the setup.

- Get the message area you need to enable permissions to notify you to let you know when messages arrived and received updates about new chat activity. Tap enable permissions to continue and in this stage Signal would like to access your contacts to find Signal users you know. Once again Signal do not store your contacts on the server. So you can Tap OK to continue.

- Tap allow for the notification and it will include alerts, sounds. You can configure latter in the settings.

- well Enter your phone number to get started and you have an option to change your country by tapping country area, so once you done just tap NEXT and here we go… for the registration of more secure Signal private messaging app.

-- You will be required to enter a six-digit code that the app will send you via SMS.

-- Once you verify the code Signal will take to your profile page.

-- You will be required to set your profile picture and name, First name is required and last name is optional so lets continue with First name for the moment.

- To setup a profile photo simply tap on Camera icon and you have an option to select camera to take photo or you can chose from your photo library.

- To access your photo library you need to provide access to your photos. Remember This name and your profile photos will be shown to your contacts on the app.

-- Tap on Save to continue.

Create your PIN

Personally, I really like this feature because PINs keep information stored with Signal encrypted so only you can access it. Your profile, settings and contacts will restore when you reinstall. But the interesting fact is you won’t need your PIN to open the app.

You can create PIN in number format and if you wish to create in alphanumeric PIN just tap Create alphanumeric PIN and this also possible as per your requirement. Isn’t it cool!? Let me create my PIN and tap Next and reconfirm your PIN which just now created and tap next. PIN is creating now, and it’s done.

 

Here’s the first page of Signal private messenger app and to signal would like to find and connect to devices on your local network and Tap OK to continue.

 

Well simple guide from Signal in down below to create new group and invite friends. Also, in the top right corner of the screen notice a pen icon to start composing message and some of my friends are already using Signal app.

Let’s tap the pen icon and let my send my first Signal messes. And similar interface like WhatsApp to compose messages, send stickers, voice recording and emojis. Once messages has sent there will be one tick mark and once message seen there will be another tick. Wow my friend has already welcoming me on Signal.

 

Well To initiate an end-to-end encrypted audio call simply by select the contact and then tapping on the phone icon top right cornet and you need to provide access to the microphone and tap OK to place the call.

Following the same steps, you can initiate video calls on Signal. You may have to allow Signal to access your camera as well.
