How to send disappearing messages and photos, other media on Signal

Signal enables users to send disappearing messages and photos, videos, stickers and GIFs.

Using Signal is fairly easy with the app adding new features to it every day. Signal also has some features like sending disappearing photos, these photos are not stored in the cloud or servers and are deleted as soon as the receiver has seen them. Signal also has a disappearing messages feature, the one WhatsApp recently rolled out. Signal also allows users to share stickers, photos, videos, and GIFs.

 

To get the basics right on Signal for download, register composing messages, voice and video calls you can check out another video and link available in iBotton and description.

 

To send a disappearing message on Signal:

-- Open the chat with your contact.

-- Chose the contact name and then tap the contact name in top of the screen.

 

-- Tap Turn on Disappearing messages. Remember when disappear message enabled, messages sent and received in this chat will disappear after they have been seen.

 

-- Set your message timer anywhere from 5 seconds to 1 week from button slides.

-- Tap Back to go back to your chat.

-- The chat header will include a timer icon and the chat will include an alert that it is enabled.

To change the change the time for disappear message,

 

-- Open the chat with your contact.

-- Tap the timer icon in the header.

-- Tap Disappearing messages.

-- from slider select a new message time and you are done. choose OK.

-- An alert in your chat thread will display the new disappearing message time.

 

To disable a disappearing message on Signal, follow the same steps as enabling a disappearing message, just turn Off the disappearing message and you are done. All messages sent after this change will not disappear.
